BF Maschinen is finalist of the “Grand Prix of German medium-sized businesses".

Geretsried - BF Maschinen, located in Geretsried was finalist of the “Grand Prix of German medium-sized businesses 2012”. The award ceremony took place in at the "Maritim" hotel in Würzburg during a festive celebration. More than 500 guests were invited. Approx. 3600 companies from Bayern, Hessen, Thüringen and Baden-Württemberg were nominated for the 18th competition of the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation. BF Maschinen was proposed for the fourth time by Geretsried, the Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich and the branch in Southern. 1834 nominees made it into the second round. Finally 12 prize-winners and 24 finalists" were announced. Important criteria included outstanding overall development of the company, for creating and safeguarding jobs and for their exemplary performance in the competition criteria "Innovation/Modernization", "Social commitment in the Region" and "Service/Customer”. Managing director Thomas Breuer travelled with his wife Gabriele to the award in Würzburg. “Each member of staff has contributed to this award, of which everyone can rightly be proud”, Mr. Breuer is pleased about the award. For over 17 years, his company has been developing standard and special machines. One of the most recent projects was a sun simulation under space conditions for the Russian Space Center in Samara. Satellites can be tested at minus 200 degrees Celsius and 100 percent vacuum in this way. According to the words of Mr. Breuer, a patent pending gripper system for Baggage loading should be part of the new developments of the company that closes an automation gap. The damage caused by manual loaded, mismanaged or lost baggage would be minimalized.
The EU-wide damage is about 1.2 million Euros per day. A patent application has also been filed for robotic welding of fuelling systems. BF Maschinen GmbH at Wallensteinstrasse employs about 70 employees and 12 apprentices and generated a sales volume of 5.3 million Euros in the previous year.
